Both the TROGLO Large and Small Crawlers are built on the same modular base—an innovative design that sets us apart. Instead of investing in multiple crawler systems, users can easily convert between small and large configurations. This flexible platform enables inspection teams to handle pipe sizes ranging from 4 to 47 inches with a single, unified system, thereby reducing equipment costs and simplifying field operations.

This waterproof, battery-powered crawler weighs 17.4 kg (38.4 lb) and, when outfitted with the elevator and large air-filled tires, can be remotely operated in pipes up to 47 inches in diameter. Forward- and reverse-facing cameras provide continuous visual feedback during inspection.

By removing the elevator and large light head and fitting small urethane wheels with a compact battery, the crawler can be converted into a small-diameter inspection robot capable of operating in 4, 6, and 8-inch pipes.

Designed for operation in dirty pipes, fluids, and slippery environments, these wheels provide increased traction for consistent crawler movement in challenging conditions.

Powered by cutting-edge Lithium-Ion battery technology, the entire system offers extended operational times without the need for bulky generators, ensuring a streamlined and hassle-free operation.

The camera head is a PTF (pan, tilt, and electronic focus) unit with self-centring capabilities. It provides a 360-degree tilt range, 285-degree side-to-side panning, and electronic manual focus adjustment from 20 mm (0.8 in) to infinity. Equipped with CMOS chips and "Digital Clarity" enhancements, the cameras also feature dual high-intensity LEDs. This camera can be remotely controlled via a 14.2 cm (5.6 in) high-brightness colour display.

The pan/tilt camera is accompanied by two LED lights for enhanced illumination.

After completing the inspection, guide the crawler out of the pipe using the rear-facing camera and dual bright LED backup lights.

The video processor and the 14.2 cm (5.6 in) high-brightness colour display include a sun shield, a keyboard for controlling and navigating the crawler, storing up to 9 pages of text, a memory card for documenting inspections, an onscreen foot counter, an inclinometer, and a pressure sensor.

The cable reel serves dual purposes: it accommodates the 305-meter (100 ft) Kevlar video cable reel and features a seamless cable feeder for effortless reeling after completing your inspection. This fully motorized reel also integrates an advanced rechargeable power cell, providing over 4 hours of continuous video screen operation. The reel is also available for manual recoiling, providing our clients with flexibility and choice.

Depending on your specific application needs, select between the pan-and-tilt or axial camera head. Both options are waterproof, crafted from durable stainless steel, and equipped with bright LED lights for enhanced visibility during inspections.

The lifting device allows the crawler to descend into a horizontal inspection setting through a vertical manhole or access point. This same device can also lift the crawler back up when needed.

Our optional elevator feature can lift the camera for the centred inspection up to 99 cm (39 in). This powered camera elevator is remotely controlled by the LCD/Keyboard controller on the reel, enabling easy camera repositioning.

The crawler can traverse pipes up to 119 cm (47 in) in diameter while keeping the camera at the center of the pipe for optimal inspection results.

The crawler features a built-in 32.768 kHz sonde—a compact electronic transmitter that emits a signal used to accurately locate and track the crawler’s position and depth underground. This enables operators above ground to pinpoint the crawler’s location.

TROGLO crawlers are fully compatible with WinCan, enabling a seamless inspection and reporting workflow on your own laptop or control console.
