Clean the surface, not the surroundings.
Designed for automated laser cleaning with the NAVIC and Motorized Raster Arm, the Laser Ablation Shroud surrounds the laser cleaning area to help control fumes and particulate generated during the ablation process.
The shroud travels with the laser head as the Motorized Raster Arm moves across the cleaning surface, keeping extraction close to the point of ablation throughout the scan. A flexible brush skirt follows the asset's profile, helping to contain airborne debris while allowing the assembly to move smoothly over pipes, tanks, vessels, and other ferrous surfaces.
An integrated extraction port connects the shroud to an external vacuum or fume extraction system, drawing ablated material away from the work area as cleaning progresses.
Mounted as part of the laser head and raster-arm assembly, the Laser Ablation Shroud works with the NAVIC remotely operated magnetic crawler platform to automate surface preparation across large or difficult-to-access assets. The NAVIC provides controlled travel along the asset, while the Motorized Raster Arm moves the laser and shroud across the cleaning path to provide repeatable two-axis coverage.
